One website that I frequent is Reece's Rainbow. They have the sweetest children in need of forever families, many with Down Syndrome, and others with various medical issues. There was a joyful little girl on that site in an orphanage in Eastern Europe. She has arthrogryposis. I have kept checking back, hoping that a family would choose sweet Madeline. And then, I noticed that a family had spoken for her! I found that family's blog today, and watched the homecoming video with joy. Watch it for yourself down below.
My boys wanted to watch it over and over again. They said, "Mom, we've just got to find a girl that needs us quickly." They feel the same urgency we do. But, the timing is in God's hands. I can't wait to look back at this process someday and see how God worked out every step, every delay, every victory, and every trial as the Master StoryWeaver, to point us all to His sovereignty, His greatness, His tender love, and His mercy. It is all about Him. It has to be, or life, and our pursuits, are useless. But because of His love in the lives of His children, we are able to love others! It's amazing.
"By this we know love, that he laid down his life for us, and we ought to lay down our lives for the brothers. But if anyone has the world's goods and sees his brother in need, yet closes his heart against him, how does God's love abide in him? Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth." I John 3
Do you know that love of God personally in your own life? Have you been adopted into God's family? And if you have, what difference has it made in how you live your life?
